Our Goal

Our goal is to raise awareness on behalf of Epilepsy by promoting Purple day.

My name is Faith. I was diagnosed with Complex Partial Seizures when I was 3 years old. I have a lot of support from my family and from all of my friends and teachers at my school. This year, I want to be an ambassador for Purple Day. I have created “The Most Purple Perfect Poster Contest” at my school, Paradise Elementary.

All kids from Kindergarten to Grade 6 will take part in the contest. There will be two First, Second, and Third Place winners, for Primary and Elementary. Each First Place winner will receive a Class Pizza Party and a Tshirt that my mom and dad designed, plus two donations of $100 will be given to our local epilepsy foundation, Epilepsy Newfoundland Labrador, in each winners name.

The Second and Third Place winners will receive 2 Movie Passes each. I will also be giving each of my classmates and my teacher a purple t-shirt to wear on that day too. The t-shirts are purple and has “Supporting Faith & Purple Day for Epilepsy” on the front, and the Purple Day website address on the back.

My dad has created a website for my poster contest and it will be available for viewing on March 4th. I am very excited to be taking part in Purple Day and I hope to help more people understand what epilepsy is and how we can find more ways to bring awareness to it.

My mom and dad (Pat & John) and my brother Nick are very proud of me for taking on such a big job, but I am also very proud of myself!!

I hope everyone wears something purple on March 26th!
